Shipping Guide


Number of packages

Each purchase covers 1 package only.

For multiple packages to the same address please purchase additional collections or place all packages to the same address in one package (ensure it does not go over the stated maximum weight and dimensions allowed)

Weight & dimensions

One purchase covers 1 package with a maximum weight of 31.5kg and the longest side no more than 120cm and the maximum volume no more than 0.17m3 unless the premium Oversized parcel service has been purchased.

Each dimension must be below the maximum stated.

Any packages over these limits may result in the driver refusing to collect the item (no refund available) or additional charges needing to be paid via e-bay.

Your parcel must be measured and weighed to complete your booking form, pricing your delivery and ensuring successful delivery of your consignment.

DO NOT ESTIMATE.

*TIP* If your parcel is too large to see the reading on bathroom scales, weigh yourself first and then again holding the parcel.  The difference between the 2 weights is the weight of your parcel*

 

Collections

Only 1 collection attempt will be made so please ensure someone is available to hand the parcel to the driver.

Collections are made anytime between 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

We are sorry but collection times or slots can not be given.

Bookings received before 9pm can be collected the following working day if requested or a working day of your choice to suit you.

If no one is available to hand the parcel to the driver then no refund is given as we are charged by the carrier.  We will be happy to re-book the collection for you but this will require an additional payment to be made via e-bay.

Collection excludes Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland & Off-shore Islands, unless you have purchased the specific premium service that covers these areas.

Deliveries

Please ensure that the package is clearly marked with the full delivery address (no PO box addresses).

Deliveries are made between 9am-5.30pm for businesses and 7.30am-9pm for private addresses Monday to Friday (exc bank holidays).

Deliveries booked on our Saturday service will be made up to 12noon.

Our standard 24 hour and 48 hour service includes up to 3 delivery attempts.  If no one is available to receive the parcel a card will be left offering redelivery or collection from the depot.  If no-one is available on these 3 occasions no refund is given and further delivery attempts can be purchased via e-bay.  All other services include only 1 delivery attempt.  If no one is available on this occasion no refund is given and a further delivery attempt can be purchased via e-bay.

Recipient may request for the parcel to be left at a neighbours by leaving a signed note on the door.

Delivery excludes Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland & Off-shore Islands, unless you have purchased the specific premium service that covers these areas.

We use every reasonable effort to deliver in accordance with delivery schedules but these are not guaranteed.  If circumstances result in us not being able to meet these delivery schedules no refund is available unless a premium guaranteed service has been purchased.

We are not liable for any damages or loss caused by delays in delivery schedules.

Customers Obligations

The customer shall ensure consignments are properly packed taking into account the contents of the consignment.

The customer shall ensure that all consignments are correctly and completely labelled/addressed.

The customer shall comply with restrictions on carrying dangerous, prohibited and/or restricted goods.  The customer shall indemnify us or the carrier for any loss, damage or expense suffered as a result of the customers failure to comply with these regulations.

Insurance

All services includes up to £100 of insurance for loss or damage, excluding diamond service which includes up to £500 of insurance for loss or damage.

All compensation claims are made against the carrier and go through their claims department but must be submitted to us at ultra_kwik_express_couriers

Claims must be submitted to us within 10 days of delivery.

Prohibeted goods

Some items such as dangerous goods, large white appliances, glass, drugs, gases etc can not be carried.

For further advice on items we can not ship please contact us on michael.mcgreal1@ntlworld.com.

We have the discretion not to carry any consignments which in our opinion is unsuitable for carriage.

When your parcel is collected the driver will leave you with a tracking number.  To track your parcel online go to http://track.dhl.co.uk/tracking.


PACKAGING GUIDE.



TO ENSURE YOUR PARCEL ARRIVES SAFELY & ON TIME PLEASE FOLLOW THESE PACKAGING TIPS:-

  • Choose the appropriate size container.  Under filled boxes may collapse and overloaded boxes tend to burst.
  • Use sturdy corrugated cardboard boxes and if your item is valuable use heavy duty double layered boxes for extra reinforcement.
  • Try to leave 5cm between the outer container and the item you are sending and fill this space with cushioning material.  You can use items specifically made for this purpose such as bubble wrap, polystyrene chippings or more common household items such as crumpled newspaper, old clothing/towels/bedding.
  • Wrap fragile items individually so they don’t touch each other.
  • Mark the outside of the container with arrows to show the right way up or fragile wear appropriate.
  • Reinforce packaging on gifts.  The attractive packaging of many of these goods is not appropriate for shipping on its own.
  • Protect edges, delicate obtruding parts or sharp items with extra packaging such as cardboard.  Fix this protective material securely so it can not fall off during transit.
  • We do not recommend that you re-use boxes however if you do make sure it is in good shape and not worn out or damaged.  Remove any old labels and stickers
